The architectural design for the Fiji School Recovery Program spans across 9 schools nestled in Vanua Levu, Fiji. The $14 million project crafted with resilience in mind, each structure is meticulously engineered to withstand Category 5 tropical cyclones, ensuring the safety of its occupants during extreme weather events. Embracing a holistic approach, the design integrates facilities for early childhood education (ECE), staff accommodations, dormitories, classrooms, administrative blocks, a dining halls, and toilet blocks, catering to the diverse needs of the educational community. Inclusivity is paramount, with provisions made for disability compliance to ensure accessibility for all. In a beautiful display of community collaboration, the women of the region have been commissioned to weave intricate mats for the ceilings, infusing each space with local craftsmanship and cultural significance. Beyond its role as an educational hub, each school serves as a beacon of resilience, doubling as evacuation centers during natural disasters, offering sanctuary and safety to those in need.

      Under Construction, the Savusavu Market is a dynamic addition to the local landscape, designed as a two-storey building to cater to diverse community needs. The ground level of this bustling structure will host a vibrant array of amenities including market vendors offering fresh produce and local wares, cozy coffee shops inviting patrons to linger, an accessible information booth, a bustling handicraft center showcasing local artistry, and convenient kiosks for quick snacks and essentials. Meanwhile, Level 1 will accommodate SME vendors eager to showcase their products, alongside additional kiosks and conference rooms ideal for community gatherings and business meetings. The design prioritizes accessibility with public conveniences and disability-compliant facilities, ensuring inclusivity for all visitors. An elevator provides seamless access to the first floor, reinforcing the market’s commitment to accessibility and convenience in this evolving community hub.
