Mango Bay Resort, Fiji Islands

Mango Bay Resort is a backpacker's accommodation on a very isolated site. The site is located along the central coast in a valley surrounded by highlands. The brief called for high density living that catered to the backpacking lifestyle. The client had requested a boutique backpackers with some private villas. The isolated site came with some restrictions with regards to access to amenities. This was countered by designing the resort to be self-sustained through the collection of rain water, and natural cooling through ventilation and thatch roofs.

Project done by Peter Rankin whilst at another company.
